Duncanville ISD Educator Selected as Texas
 On Thursday, June 11
Byrd MS principal Gabe Trujillo was named Texas’ 2009 Middle-Level National Distinguished Principal.
The announcement was made to 2,300 educators attending the Texas Elementary
Principals & Supervisors Association (TEPSA) Summer Conference in Austin.
In May the district announced
that Mr. Trujillo was one of two finalists under consideration for the award. "What an extraordinary day, event, and honor for such a deserving
educator," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alfred Ray. "On behalf of
the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees, staff, students, parents, and community,
we congratulate and celebrate Gabe Trujillo."

Summer
school and enrichment camps have been scheduled for Summer
2009. Parents of students who will be required to attend
summer school will be notified by their child’s school.
